A DUBLIN scout leader is facing charges of procuring children for a paedophile ring.
The Evening Herald can reveal that Gardai are set to recommend charges against the married man.
The investigation follows allegations of sex between adults and a 15-year-old boy, whom the adults communicated with by mobile phone text messages.
A complaint was made by his mother about messages she found, sparking the investigation.
The man, who works with boys and girls under Scouting Ireland’s cubs and beavers’ organisations, could face 14 years in jail if convicted of the offence.
The four-month garda investigation into the allegations is nearing completion and sources have revealed that at least one man will be charged.
